Last Friday 11th of March, a group of Peruvian students visited the Residency of the Embassy of Peru in the Netherlands to hold a meeting with authorities, professors, former students and other Peruvian students living in the Netherlands.
During the meeting, Ambassador Carlos Herrera highlighted the importance of cooperation in higher education between Peru and the Netherlands, as well as the progress in this matter, such as inter-university agreements, the approaches with Dutch Universities and the promotion of opportunities of cooperation in science and technology.
For its part, the representative of the Organization for the internationalization of education – Ep-NUFFIC and co-organizer of the event, Ana María Rey, made reference to the efforts of this institution to strengthening the cooperation and opportunities offered by the Netherlands to the foreign students that wish to follow higher education.
The Consul of Peru in Amsterdam, Minister SDR Jorge Wurst and the Trade Councellor of Peru in Rotterdam Mr. Erick García also participated. The Peruvian professors from The Hague University, Catherine García, and Celso Meiller joined the event to share their personal experience as teachers in this country. Lastly, a small group of former students joined the reception to give the students some advice for their post-university stage.
