Celebrations in the Netherlands for the Peruvian National Day
In the framework of the 194th anniversary of our independence on the 28th of July 2015, the Embassy of Peru hosted an official reception in the Residence of the Ambassador of Peru to the official Dutch authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, businessmen, academics and representative members of the Peruvian Community in the Netherlands, which totaled around 300 guests. In this framework, the Embassy offered a buffet lunch with Peruvian food and drinks, as well as a tasting of Pisco Sour, courtesy of the Peruvian company “FIA International”. Ambassador Herrera also presented the sculptures of the Dutch artist Lika Mutal, which are located in the gardens of the Residence. We also had the presence of the European Champions of “Marinera Norteña” Alessia and Fabrizzio Mayuri.
Other commemorative events attended by Ambassador Herrera and other members of the Embassy were the following:
a. Peruvian Party in the city of Utrecht (July 25th). Organized by the PERU NL association, with a programme that included sports events for children, a “sapo” championship, musical presentations and tasting of Peruvian food.
b. “Te Deum” Mass (July 26th) in the Basilica of Saint Nicholas of Amsterdam, organized by the General Consulate of Peru in Amsterdam.
c. Great Party for Peru in Amsterdam (July 26th). Organized by the Peruvian company “Pukitas Events” and sponsored by the Embassy of Peru and the General Consulate of Peru in Amsterdam. The programme included the presentation of two Champions of “Marinera Norteña”, Alessia and Fabrizio Mayuri, and various other groups of Peruvian music and dance; as well as a painting exposition and gastronomic fair.
