Conference by Peruvian writer Fernando Iwasaki during the Day of the Spanish language.

The Embassy of Peru, in coordination with the Cervantes Institute in the Netherlands, based in Utrecht, organized a conference by the Peruvian historian and essayist Fernando Iwasaki, called "La Mancha Extraterritorial" based on the article by the same name that was awarded a Don Quixote Journalism Prize and in which he noted the literary tradition of writers which emerged in non-English speaking countries but that wrote in Spanish. In addition, Mr. Iwasaki emphasized the influence of Spanish as one of the main languages ​​of art, music and literature.

This activity was part of the celebrations for the Day of the Spanish Language, celebrated by various branches of the network of the Cervantes Institute, and in which they invite communities in non-English speaking countries to participate in various events in honor of our language.

After the conference, the Embassy of Peru offered a Pisco of Honor to those attending the event including members of the diplomatic corps, Hispanists, Spanish language students and other academics.
